AI Strategy & Roadmap

Turn AI from a buzzword into a concrete 12-month transformation plan with clear ROI milestones. Starts with an AI maturity assessment.

The problem I’m solving

Every company is being asked to have an “AI strategy.” Most of what gets produced in response is either too theoretical (slides about the AI landscape) or too tactical (we’ll add an AI feature to our product).

What actually works is a structured analysis of where AI can create durable competitive advantage for your specific business, followed by a prioritized roadmap that accounts for your data, your team, and your constraints.

What the engagement delivers

AI Maturity Assessment (weeks 1–2) — Where does your company actually stand? I assess your data infrastructure, current AI/ML usage, team capabilities, and competitive landscape. You get an honest picture, not a flattering one.

Opportunity Mapping (weeks 2–3) — A structured scan of AI applications across your value chain. Ranked by expected impact, implementation complexity, and time-to-value. Usually 15–25 specific opportunities identified, narrowed to 5–8 that are worth pursuing.

12-Month Roadmap (weeks 3–4) — A sequenced execution plan for the top opportunities. Includes: what to build vs. buy, data infrastructure requirements, team changes needed, investment estimates, and how you’ll measure success.

Executive Presentation — A board-ready presentation of findings and recommendations that you can use to build alignment and secure investment.

What makes this different

I’ve implemented AI systems in production. I know which AI applications are genuinely high-leverage and which are impressive demos that don’t survive contact with real operations. The assessment I deliver is grounded in what has actually worked, not what looks good in a framework.

Typical outcomes

  • Clear prioritization of AI investments with rationale the board can evaluate
  • 3–5 quick wins that can be shipped within 90 days to build organizational confidence
  • A 12-month roadmap with defined milestones and resource requirements
  • Decision on build vs. buy vs. partner for each major initiative

Who this is for

Mid-market and enterprise companies making serious AI investment decisions and needing a structured foundation to act on. Also works well for PE/VC-backed companies where the portfolio company needs a credible AI plan.
